IN the latest instalment of Maldon and District Cycling Club's joint evening ten and 25 time trial events there was a good turnout of riders with the 25-mile event being a joint inter-club affair with the Southend Wheelers.

On the evening ten course, the fastest time was set by Nick Penny of Athlonsport with a time of 24 minutes nine seconds, closely followed by the fastest Maldon rider, James Farren, who finished with a time of 24m 13s.

Fastest junior was yet again Maldon's Harry Wood in 24m 40s.

Fastest lady on the night was Maldon's Lynda George with a finishing time of 33ms 1s.

On the E21/25 course, the joint inter club event with Southend Wheelers was a great success as Southend junior James Jenkins was the fastest rider on the night with a time of 56m 47s.

Fellow Southend rider David Pennington came home second with a finishing time of 58m 26s.

Maldon's Adrian Tovey was third and dipped under the hour mark in 59m 31s.

Meanwhile, Josh Doe and Anthony Marsh both represented Maldon at Lea Valley Park and Trinity Park respectively.

Doe was racing in the Lea Valley Summer Series where he gained his first points in eighth place, while Marsh was racing in the Suffolk Cycle Racing Series where he managed a very respectable fifth place having clipped off the front with half a lap to go.
