IT was a disappointment for Forrester Park’s men’s teams.

In the Leslie Wood and Jubilee Cup competitions, both were defeated in heavy rain in the semi-finals.

The Leslie Wood team had a 4-1 lead at lunch after the foursomes against The Burstead at Canons Brook but could not sustain this position, winning only two of the ten afternoon singles matches to go down 8½-6½.

The Jubilee Cup team were out-played at Stapleford Abbots against Benton Hall, who coped more successfully with the heavy rain which persisted throughout the match.

The veterans played a full handicap better ball stableford this week which was won by Roy Valentine and Ron Ketley, with 50 points.

Alan Hancock and Trevor Macdonald had the same score but were beaten on countback.

Eric Coleman and Phil Prior were third with 49.
