VILLAGE FETE

Planning for the 2008 D'Arcy village fete actually started the day after last year's fete and is moving ahead as the days lengthen and everyone starts looking forward to the warmer days of summer.

The fete committee is always overstretched and is appealing for volunteers to help with the planning, help set up the fete on the day and generally donate their time and efforts to help make the village fete yet another event everyone can enjoy and take pride in. The organisers are always striving to improve on their previous efforts with more entertainment, more stalls, sideshows, rides and games.

The day will include displays to appeal to every taste from mechanical to fur and feather.

As always, food and drink come high on the list of priorities with this year being no exception.

There will also be a tug of war competition open to both male and female teams. Anyone wishing to book a stall, a sideshow or ride, a display or to volunteer should call Dawn Pitt on 01621 860428 or 07941 083769.

The date for this year's D'Arcy Village Fete is Saturday June 7.
