In 1907 the members of All Saints Church choir were given robes for the very first time.
One hundred years later, new robes have just been purchased for the choir that performs jointly with Goldhanger. This weekend the robes were worn for the first time when this combined choir was invited to sing with Witham choir for three services in Norwich Cathedral.
Evensong was performed on Saturday and Sunday evening as well as the main morning service.
ALL SAINTS CHURCH
A special All Souls Day service will be held on Friday November 2, at 8pm, in All Saints, when special prayers will be said for our loved ones and their names will be read out.
If you cannot attend and would like members of your family or friends to be remembered in this way, contact Vivienne Smith on 891660.
Two days later, on Sunday November 4, the parish church's name day is being marked at the special All Saints service from 11am, followed by lunch.
This is also a benefice service to which members of Great Totham and Goldhanger churches are also invited.
GIFT FAIR
An unusual Christmas present for the family could be a photograph of how the village used to look.
These will be among the goodies on sale at All Saints gift fair on Saturday November 3, along with a selection of cards and presents. Refreshments will be available throughout the day.
If you make or franchise suitable items for sale and would like a stall, contact Vivienne Smith on 891660.
