At the Military Whist Drive held in the village hall on the second Wednesday of August, it was "clean up" evening for the winning table.
Not only did Mrs Pat Clark, Miss Rita Ellis, Mrs Lorraine Bradley and Basil Eves win with 28 flags, Pat, Rita and Basil won the other prizes as well.
Mr A C Clark was MC.
