The festive weekend in the Village is upon us - here is a reminder of what is going on for all the family.

The flower festival at St Michael's Church runs from this Friday to Monday, between 10am and 6pm on Friday and Saturday, and starting at 11am on Sunday.

There is also an art show at the village hall between Friday and Sunday. It is open from 10.30am to 6pm each day.

And on Sunday, the village primary school will be holding its fete between 1pm and 4pm. It is due to be opened by TV magician Michael J Fitch.

WOMEN'S CLUB

At the next meeting, on July 24 at 7.30pm, Michael Field will be speaking about counselling services.

We will be be serving refreshments as usual in the tea tent at St Michael's Church, so please come along for a cup of tea and chat!

WHIST DRIVE

A whist Drive was held in the village hall on the first Wednesday of July, with three-and-three-quarter tables in play. Mr A C Clark was MC.

First equal, each with a score of 169, were Miss Rita Ellis and Mrs Margaret Arrell. Third, two tricks behind, was Mrs Lorraine Bradley.

The consolation was won by Mrs Betty Palmer and the snowball shared between Rita and Margaret.

Winners of other prizes were Betty and Margaret.
