HUNDREDS of exceptional grades were achieved this morning as William de Ferrers School students achieved over 500 A grades in their GCSE results.

The school in South Woodham Ferrers were celebrating alongside their students this morning after 500 A* and A grades were reportedly obtained across their results.

The school saw an increase in their pass rate statistics, with 62% of all exam entrants achieving a C grade or higher in both English and Maths.

Among the many high achieving students this summer were Matthew Jayasekara, who achieved nine A* and two A grades, and Hannah Broad who achieved seven A*s and three As.

Mike Applewhite, Acting Head Teacher, said: “Our students have achieved wonderful results and we look forward to welcoming many of them back into our thriving sixth form.

“The results the students have achieved this summer again confirmed that students can achieve highly at William de Ferrers School which is at the heart of its community.

“We have an exceptional team of staff who are passionate about our students. It has been a privilege to celebrate both AS, A level and GCSE results recently and we look forward to welcoming our students back in September.”
