TOLLESBURY Sailing Club enjoyed a packed event over the weekend raising money for charity.
The club’s ‘Tea by the Sea’ event saw a healthy crowd of people attend their newly refurbished clubhouse on Woodrolfe Road to enjoy a wealth of homemade teas and cakes with all proceeds going to the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust.
Cakes and teas were contributed by various members of the public, both club members and friends.
The crowds of tea drinkers were also treated to a session of jazz music by the locally based jazz band Force 4.
The trust is a registered charity committed to giving young people aged between eight and 24 who are in recovery from cancer a unique and exhilarating sailing experience.
The sailing club had an extremely successful afternoon with a total of £315.55 raised for the trust.
A spokesman for the club thanked all who have contributed cakes and teas and for everyone who turned up to eat them.
