MALDON District Council observed a minutes silence as a mark of respect to all those affected by the Nice attack last week.
Eighty-four people died when an attacker drove a lorry into people celebrating Bastille Day.
Eighty-five people remain in hospital, 18 of them in critical condition.
The council observed the silence on Monday and also flew its Union flag at half mast for three days of mourning from Friday.
