THREE services at St Peter's Hospital have been rewarded for the excellent care they deliver.

The Porters Service received the Outstanding Service Award and the ARU Outreach Service and the Community Sexual Health Team received the Innovation and Enterprise Award.

The awards were presented at Provide's Annual Awards Ceremony, which celebrated the outstanding achievements of its staff and volunteers and the commitment of those who had over 25 years of service in the health and care sector.

Provide delivers care from the hospital, in Spital Road, Maldon.

John Niland Chief Executive of Provide said: "The porters at St Peter’s Hospital were the winners of the ‘Outstanding Service’ Award, their work is vital for the smooth-running of the hospital and, to their great credit, they are always polite, cheerful and happy to help.

"As well as winning an award for innovation and enterprise, the ARU Service, also received a silver award for Care and Compassion.

"Nominations for this award came from those who had used the service and the comments they made show how much people value this service and appreciate the kindness and care of the staff.

"The Community Sexual Health Service is also a well-deserved winner.

"Its staff have worked hard to deliver a way of working that makes maximum use of new technology, enabling the service to improve care and be more efficient."
