A serial killer guilty of murdering three young women, including Tillingham teenager 18-year-old Dinah McNicol, is back in jail after suffering a suspected stroke.

Peter Tobin was taken from Saughton Prison, Edinburgh to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary on Sunday, before returning to prison on Monday, according to the Scottish Sun.

He is serving three life sentences for murdering Dinah McNicol, student Angelika Kluk and Vicky Hamilton.

Miss McNicol's body, along with the body of 15-year-old Miss Hamilton, were uncovered in the garden of a house in Margate which used to belong to Tobin, in 2008.

A spokesman for the Scottish Prison Service said: "We do not comment on individual prisoners.

"We can confirm that someone was taken from Edinburgh Prison and has been returned to the establishment."

The Scottish Ambulance Service would not comment on the incident.
