AN ex-England rugby star joined more than a hundred members of a yacht and rugby club to raise money for charity.

Former England captain, Lewis Moody, joined members of Burnham Rugby Club and Royal Burnham Yacht Club for a charity dinner on behalf of the Lewis Moody Foundation.

About 120 people dined at the yacht club’s Burnham Quay base, to help raise funds for The Brain Tumour Charity, on November 14.

The evening, which raised more than £12,000, saw Mr Moody, who was joined by wife Annie, deliver a talk on his time as England captain and the Lewis Moody Foundation.

Raffles, auctions – including a chance to row with cross-Atlantic solo-rower Charlie Pitcher - and a bid to sit next to Mr Moody throughout dinner helped raise the funds.

The Lewis Moody Foundation helps families affected by serious illness by offering days-out as well as funding scientific research the Brain Tumour Charity.
