A girl whose family lost everything when fire ripped through their home has celebrated outstanding exam results, including six A* and A grades.
Natalie Clay, 16, of East End Road, Bradwell, achieved three A*s in English Literature and Performing Arts, three As in English, RE and Psychology and four Bs and a C in the rest of her subjects, including History, Science and French.
In September last year fire broke out in her family’s pub, the King’s Head, destroying all her possessions– including her Ormiston Rivers Academy school uniform and coursework.
She said: “I think up until Christmas it was very hard, for the first couple of months it was hard to concentrate on school work with everything which was going on.”
However, against the odds, Natalie triumphed in her exams, sat in the summer term.
