An annual charity day takes place this weekend.

The fifth ‘Rock Up for Randall’ event takes place at Drapers Farm Sports Club, Drapers Chase, Heybridge, in memory of 27-year-old David Randall, of Browning Road, who died of bowel cancer in 2012.

The event on Sunday will include a charity cricket match and live music in the evening, with a raffle and auction, including items such as a cricket shirt signed by Alistair Cook, the use of a holiday apartment in Portugal and a bowling lesson with Essex player David Masters.

The David Randall Foundation raises money to provide “good days” for people with life limiting conditions, such as VIP trips to the football.

David’s father and event organiser, Mike Randall said he was “moved to see the enthusiasm and support for the David Randall Foundation”.

He hopes to raise around £5,000.

Entry is by donation and parking is free at the event which starts at 9.30am.
