A Police Community Support Officer has urged Maldon youngsters to join the cadet force.
Cadet Leader Tom Gower, 24, based at Maldon police station, has led the Chelmsford and Maldon Volunteer Police Cadets since it began in April.
He will welcome the second intake of cadets in September, after being a cadet himself between 2007-2009.
He is now in the process of applying to become a constable within the police force.
The unit is looking for young people aged between 13 and 17 to join in September.
