The sun shone down on Maldon Carnival’s 101st procession as the streets burst with colour, music, dance and smiles.
Starting at Fambridge Road at 2.15pm, the Haverettes Marching Band led the queen, her court, 12 visiting courts, majorettes and throngs of floats through the town towards Promenade Park, on Saturday 1.
The Big Sing, Blackwater Judo Club, The Uplights Dance Academy, Small Waste and local friends and family dressed as superheroes, pop-stars and plenty else.
One of the carnival organisers, Rob Slight, said: “There must have been around 2,000 people who turned up and it looks like we must have raised around £1,000."
