Carers have been “astounded” by an inspirational teenager’s progress after two years of intense rehabilitation.
Sam Richards, 19, suffered a life-changing brain injury when he fell from a piece play equipment in Oak Tree Meadow play area in Heybridge in 2012.
When he first started at Shorefields special school in Clacton, carers remember when he could not lift a pencil.
Last Wednesday marked his final day at Shorefields and one of his carers posted a clip online of the former Plume School pupil “bombing” through a corridor on his walking aid.
In May, Sam was awarded a Jack Petchey award for his achievements.
In July, Park Drive Health Club, in Maldon, raised £2,089 for Sam.
