A mother has spoken of her frustration after her daughter was turned away from the polling booth.
Vicky Blackmore, 42, went to vote in the election at North Fambridge village hall, with husband Kevin, 44, and daughter Molly, 18.
Ten days before the election Vicky contacted Maldon District Council, checking Molly could vote as she had not received a polling card.
Vicky said: “I emailed and checked she was on the electoral role, they said she could vote.
“We went and she wasn’t able to vote."
Vicky said: “It was really frustrating because I had specifically checked."
MDC said it would not comment on individual cases, but recognised some residents had difficulty voting.
