Ambulance crews and the air ambulance attended a call in Maldon after a woman fell down stairs.
The teams were called on Friday afternoon.
A spokesman for the East of England ambulance service said: "We received a call at 5.23pm to Fitch's Crescent to a report of a woman who had fallen down a flight of stairs.
"A community first responder, rapid response vehicle, ambulance crew, Hazardous Area Response Team and East Anglian Air Ambulance attended to a woman in her 40s who was not alert.
"She was taken by land ambulance to Broomfield Hospital for further treatment.
"Her condition is not believed to be life-threatening."
