An annual Festival of Song is sure to draw crowds of singers to Bradwell.

The event, at St Peter’s-on-the-Wall, is a major highlight of the spring calendar for the Othona Community, who live nearby.

It will be taking place on Saturday, May 16.

The chapel will ring with harmonies as two popular British natural voice teachers return with songs from many different traditions and musical genres.

The idea of using people’s natural voice is to celebrate the voice you were born with rather than trying to train it to perfection.

Sarah Pennington and Gilo are well known for the sense of fun they bring to song workshops, and for the quality of sound they reach with people who may be new to this way of singing.

There will be 30 resident singers for the weekend, and the Saturday is open to local participants who would like to learn some new songs.

Workshops start at 10.30am and go on until 5pm with coffee breaks and meals and time to walk some of the sea wall.

Some people stay on for the evening for a candle lit session when the chapel glows with several hundred nightlights.

Meals and refreshments are included in the day cost: £30 with lunch and £36 with lunch and supper.

Concessionary rates are also available (just ask when booking).
