Nearly 50 residents have objected to plans for a 78-metre high wind turbine.
Maldon District Council planning officers have recommended that EDP’s proposal for a single turbine at Hall Farm, Oxley Hill, Tolleshunt D’Arcy be refused by councillors on Monday.
The proposal also includes vehicle access tracks, a crane pad, construction compound, and substation building.
The council’s conservation officer also objected to the plans on the grounds that “harm will be caused to some of the listed buildings in the vicinity”.
The officer stated: “The conspicuous manmade intervention in the landscape would jar with the historic character and setting of the site.”
