Hundreds of people dressed as Father Christmas will be running round Promenade Park to raise money for a charity foundation in memory of a local man.
David Randall, of Browning Road, Maldon, died in 2012 aged 27 after battling bowel cancer.
The Santa Fun Run, on December 14, is organised by the David Randall Foundation, which aims to give those with life limiting illnesses the opportunity to lead a full life and encourages those dedicated to sports or music to follow their ambitions.
David’s father, Mike Randall, 71, trustee of the foundation, of The Glebe, Purleigh said: “It will bring public attention to the foundation and hopefully raise some money.
“In the pack we are giving out, there is information about what we do.
“Hopefully people will feel they can support this.”
The run takes places on Sunday December 14 at Promenade Park, Maldon.
Child entry is £10 and adult entry is £13.50.
Both prices include a Santa suit.
