Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to free a passenger in a car crash.

Ambulance crews were called to Springfield Road, Burnham, at shortly after 7.45am today following a two-car crash.  

A spokesman said: “We sent one ambulance to the scene and treated a man in his mid-twenties for neck pain.

“He was taken to Broomfield Hospital for further care.”

One fire crew from Burnham and another from South Woodham Ferrers also attended the scene.

They managed to free one passenger, trapped by their injuries, by 8.45am.
