An overturned vehicle partially blocked a road in Tolleshunt D'Arcy.
The vehicle overturned shortly after 5pm on Monday afternoon, partially blocking the road at Oxley Hill, on the B1023.
The Essex Traffic Control Centre reported the incident at 5.11pm.
The East of England Ambulance Service said: "We were called just before 5pm and sent a rapid response car and ambulance.
"The driver was out of the vehicle and taken to Colchester General Hospital for further treatment."
He is not believed to be seriously injured.
