Burnham Post Office is set to be modernised and will also be increasing its opening hours.
The Station Road branch will close for refurbishment on October 22 at 5.30pm and will re-open in its newly modernised premises on November 5 at 1pm.
A service will be provided from four modern counters.
The Post Office will open 11 hours longer than before, including Saturday afternooon.
During its closure, residents are directed to Althorne Post Office in Burnham Road and the Maylandsea branch at 78 Imperial Avenue.
Post Office area manager Kevin Shepherd said: “We know how important Post Office services are to residents in Burnham on Crouch and we are confident this vibrant modern Post Office, at the heart of the community, will be popular.
“The modernisation is part of a major Government investment programme enabling us to continue investing in the Post Office network and to map out a bold growth strategy to the end of the decade.”
