Muscle men pulled a train the weight of five elephants to raise money and awareness for an incurable neurological condition.
The 14 people who attempted the challenge, at Colne Valley Railway Station last Sunday, were raising money for the Dystonia Society, inspired by Ellalouise Middleton, 16, who suffers from the condition.
The team, including Ellalouise’s dad Paul, pulled the 50-ton steam train half a mile along the railway track.
Ellalouise, of North Street, Tillingham, was diagnosed with the condition, which causes involuntary spasms and contractions in her legs and feet, when she was 14.
She said: “The pull went really well, 14 people pulled and lots of people turned up.
“My dad was at the front pulling.
“All the men said it was really heavy, they said they’d never pull anything that heavy again.
“It means everything to raise the money for myself and others with the condition.
“My life has changed dramatically, I used to play football and dance and now I can’t do that.”
