Burnham could see the return of its annual music festival next year if organisers are able to drum up support and funding.

The town used to hold a festival celebrating the arts and music, known as RiverFest, at Millfields playing fields but this came to an end a few years ago after funding dried up.

Now, hopes are high that the popular event could be brought back to Burnham, although dates and the name and length of the festival are yet to be decided.

Ron Pratt, Burnham’s Town Mayor, said: “It’s a stretch to do it this year but we are looking to do something next year.

“We have a blank canvas and a lot of enthusiasm to do something next year.

“We would need money and people to help organise it but when we’ve got all the parts together something will happen.”

Anyone interested in offering support, funding or services should get in touch with Burnham Town Council.
